Philly II
2009-08-10 10:48 p.m. Gary and I went to Philadelphia this weekend to go see Incubus. They weren't bad at all. Since it was their greatest hits tour, I knew all of their songs except for two. We got the VIP tickets so we got to meet the band before the show, which is always unnerving and awesome at the same time. They seem like nice enough guys. We didn't really have too many plans for our time there. We were mostly planning on going to record stores and comic shops, and thanks to Bill's suggestion, Capagiro for some world class gelato, which we got and was delicious. Banana tops lemon with no questions. All in all, we didn't buy that much stuff. He picked up a few comics he needed and I bought a Ghostbusters shirt and an Incubus hoodie. And a snowglobe. Can't forget that! We also stopped by the Magic Gardens because we happened to pass it while walking down South Street and had never heard of it before that. By this point, my feet were absolutely killing me and I was little more than hobbling (damn all my shoes) but I figured, how often am I going to get the chance to walk through a mosaic garden full of bike tires and glass bottles? It was amazing, and I'm pretty sure there was a story being told in the tiles and mirrors but I missed it. It was a good time all in all, even though I feel a twinge of guilt for not checking out any of America's history while I was there, but, well...meh. |
